Since 1984 Winners' Camp has graduated over 20,000 campers — with many returning as graduate campers, junior leaders, leaders and facilitators. Our current director, Jeannette Macaluso, was a camper herself and is now back along with her two children who are graduates and now leaders. In July of 2023 our camp had 15 legacy campers & leaders, bringing forth the next generation of leaders in our community.
At Winners' Camp we believe that camp should be a transformative experience for teens. Our program is designed to encourage campers to step outside of their comfort zones, challenge themselves, and build resilience; skills we believe are essential for success in life.
On the final day of Camp, a parent seminar is led by the Camp Director and key facilitators. This gives parents an overview of their teen’s experience, as well as specific skills designed to support teens in retaining the maximum value from what they have learned. The program’s final hours feature a parent and teen reunion and a presentation of communication and negotiation skills to support the ‘ohana (family) environment. If you are off-island or cannot attend Parent Day, one of our leaders hanai your teen.
Younger Siblings: Please make every possible attempt to find child care for siblings. Younger siblings tend to get restless and it’s best to give all of your focus and attention to your teen who has just experienced a very intense and transformational time.
All registration forms include an area to list medications needed and special instructions. If you wish to further communicate about medical needs, please contact us. Winners’ Camp has a wellness person on site at all times. The wellness person is responsible for distributing prescription medications and providing medication reminders to campers who request it. On the first day of camp, you may bring your teen’s medications in a see-through plastic zip-top bag. Please write your teen’s name clearly on the outside of the bag (marker is fine). Enclose instructions in the bag. We will collect medications on Registration Day when you drop off your teen.

When you are on Kamehame Drive follow the road up the mountain to the cattle gates where we will greet you; continue through the gates, until you see the grassy parking area with the Winners Camp Site to your right. Please park in this upper lot and walk your teen down.
Book arrival flights to arrive before 12:00pm. Book departure flights any time after 6:30pm. Please contact us with your travel information so we will have a Winners’ Camp representative at the airport to greet you. Proceed to your baggage claim area to be greeted. It’s fine to travel with cell phones and money, although both will not be needed at camp.
AIRPORT PARENTS: Some Neighbor Island families choose to fly in for Parent Day and rent a car. It takes about 45 minutes to drive from the airport to the camp.
We've provided a pretty concise list of what to bring to camp. This is a great time to practice independence and let them pack on their own! We also have lots of extras in case anything is forgotten.
We know that cell phones are a distraction, starting in 2024 we are asking campers to leave them at home. Cell phones that are brought will kindly be removed, kept safe and returned on the last day of camp.
You can help by talking to your child before they leave for camp and telling them that there is always someone they can reach out to and they can always use the camp phone to call you.
Another issue with cell phones is that many of them have built-in cameras that can be used to photograph other campers and then be posted on the web; we take the privacy of our campers very seriously and choose to avoid these unfortunate byproducts of cell phone use by prohibiting cell phone use.
